Dance Marathon is a movement in which lots of students whether in high school or in college gather around to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. They call friends and family to try to raise several dollars each for the foundation. They raise money for families who cannot afford their medical bills. A few months before the event they start up the account and try to raise donations. Timber Creek SGA takes part in this amazing event. Timber Creek SGA has participated in it for a while now! All the funds go to the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital.

Timber Creek has raised $4,900 so far and are still raising more and more as the days go on! SGA students are required to donate a few dollars to the foundation. Anybody can donate to the foundation as well and join the event. The event will take place on March 8, 2019. Everybody gets a Miracle Network shirt that says FTK (for the kids). They also have an event which is the actual dance marathon with the kids and families. A lot of people join around at many different schools and celebrate all the money raised for the foundation! The event is always very successful as Timber Creek has raised $15,000 in the past!

At the actual event, music is playing and different games are played with the kids. Many say it’s an outstanding event and one of their favorites. Last year, Timber Creek held it with East River and called it Rivalthon! A lot of money was brought in between the two schools and overall it was awesome. It is an 8-40 hour event where there is no sitting down, just dancing! At the end of the event they reveal the fundraising total. Timber Creek is ready to stand with the kids! You should donate and join them. Senior, Carly Billman, stated ““Whatever you did to support us has made a difference in the lives of so many children that surround us!” Photo Donated
