Throughout one’s high school career there is always a grade level that is often remembered by stressful moments, piles of homework, and an excessive amount of responsibility. Although high school is filled with these things, for many, junior year is ultimately the most difficult year. Many students view junior year as the most difficult year because of the amount of responsibilities that are handed to them. From SATs. ACTs, extracurricular activities, and maintaining good grades/GPA, Junior year is always referred to the worst year of high school. Students around Timber Creek campus feel as though what they have heard throughout the years from their older siblings, friends, and upperclassman about Junior year is true.

Although many students do admit junior year has had many fun and memorable moments, they feel as though their expectations have predisposed them into believing junior year was going to be extremely hard and that their instincts were right all along. Students claim that the work load isn’t necessarily what makes the year so hard to manage, it’s the amount of effort they have to make for their future that causes everything to feel overwhelming. Many argue that junior year forces one to plan towards the future and some students feel as though they aren’t ready to have everything decided for them quite yet.

One must also take into consideration that a student’s view on junior is heavily based on their workload and there is still the exception of students that feel as though junior year being the hardest year is simply a myth. Going on to say that freshman year is always the easy, sophomore is only slightly more difficult, and senior is arguably the easier. So naturally, that leaves junior year with a bad reputation. These students claim that junior doesn’t feel as hard because the transition wasn’t too hard to manage. They feel as though the transition from freshman year to sophomore year was much more groundbreaking because of the large difference in class workload and the overall difficulty of the class.
