The library could be known as two things; a boring location, or a comfort zone. Students at Timber Creek are contrasted when it comes to this; they’re either on one side or the other. However, the large amount of homework and assignments act as the main component between them. Peers from various levels considers it as stressful and time-consuming. And this enables more and more of the students to attend the library, even if they dislike it. Though, why does the library make such a suitable environment?
After school, students usually attend the library to study, do homework, or read books. Located in the Media Center, they consider it as beneficial and convenient. Freshman Kayla Carromero describes her experience, “I don’t really like people much. In the library, it’s always silent and the people in there don’t really talk to each other. It’s great!” Carromero states that during her time there, the environment was always peaceful. She goes almost everyday, from 2 pm until it closes.
Freshman Dani Knight enjoys hanging out in the library as well. She defined her experience as relaxing and helpful. Every now and then she goes there, because the place is less distracting than other areas. “I really don’t like staying at home when it’s noisy often. The library helps me stay focused,” Knight claimed. She attends often alongside Kayla Carromero after school, and sometimes during lunch to finish assignments or read books.
Everyday in the mornings and even after school, students attend. In the windows you could see how packed it is inside, with such studious peers. With the available technology, resources, and peaceful atmosphere, it contributes to the way many students could focus. So, if anyone’s ever in need of such a place, come by the Media Center during lunch or after school. It closes around 3 pm.
