florida-state-capital[1]   On Tuesday, Nov. 19, seniors recieved a letter from principal Dr. Gabriel Berrio annoucing new requirements for this year’s seniors to receive  a special Scholars Diploma at graduation. It requires several rigorous courses and End-of-Course Exams, including:

-Meeting all 24 credits required for a standard diploma

-Earn 1 credit in Algebra 2

-Earn 1 credit in statistics or an equally rigorous mathematics course (AP, Calculus, Pre-Calculus, etc)

-Pass the Biology 1 E.O.C.

-Earn 1 credit in Chemistry or Physics

-Earn 1 credit in a course equally rigorous to chemistry or physics (Honors/AP science electives such as Honors MArine Science, Honors Anatomy, Forensics, etc)

-Pass the U.S. History E.O.C.

-Earn 2 credits in the same world language

-Earn at least 1 credit in an Advanced Placement (AP) or dual enrollment course

 

In order to complete requirements for the exam, seniors this year can enroll in missing classes via Florida Virtual School.

From Nov. 20 through Nov. 21 students must complete practice tests for E.O.C.s, called EPATs, which will be explained during lunch in room 542. Students will also be able to view the EPATs in the Media Center all week during lunch, before school, or after school.

E.O.C.s will be held during the WInter E.O.C. admisinistration, and students missing these requirements must sign up to take the exam before Friday, Nov. 22.
