The whole point of high school is to get you prepared for college and everything after that. Many of us plan out how college is going to go, what classes we’re going to take, what type of school we’d like to attend (public or private). College is emphasized to us as an important aspect to our future so that we can get the best careers we can. Whether we attend college for sports, academics, or simply just to get away from our parents, we can all agree it is an experience. We spoke to some Juniors to see if they had planned for college and for what purpose.

Junior Kamden Epp plans to go to college at UCF and would like to keep playing volleyball for the team but says, realistically, she would be more focused on her school work than she would be playing the sport. She does not know what career she would like to pursue but says she will figure it out as her freshman year of college starts.

Junior Kirsten Jones wanted to go to FSU  but she claims that their are growing problems with the students and greek life. she is now is just letting whatever school reach out to her as long as it is out of state, if she doesn’t get into FAMU, still deciding between becoming a doctor or a lawyer.

Junior Ethan Morales says due to his volleyball skill level, he may not stay in Florida for school since there are no universities that are based on his sport. He has been looking at schools in North and South Carolina and New York.

Junior Sydnie Gerardi wants to go to Stockholm University and major in the language education department and learn swedish sign language and teach kids American and Swedish sign language in Sweden. She has been taking ASL here at Timber Creek High School since her freshman year.
