Tri-Ming the Tree Senior and co-president of Tri-M, Leah Abounader decorates the Christmas trees in the PAC. She is excited for prism this year, especially since this is her last one. She said, "It's cool interacting with the other programs and seeing what they're up to during the holidays."

Timber Creek High School’s annual Prism Concert, which showcases live productions from all the performing arts programs is set for December 15th and 16th. The show includes roughly more than 600 performers, freshmen through seniors. Unlike in years past which featured a matinee show on Saturday and an evening show that same day, there is a show for Friday night, the 15th and Saturday night, the 16th. Program directors have been working vigorously to help coordinate the intricate details of the logistics of the show, while students have been passionately working on their respective performances.

Besides being a wonderful production of diverse performances, the Prism Concert is a great fundraiser for the performing arts department at Timber Creek. Money from ticket sales goes towards maintaining the PAC and any other equipment needs throughout the year. This year, Tri-M, the Performing Arts Music Honor Society, is benefitting from the Poinsettia fundraiser. Tri-M members will also usher the concert, lending assistance to audience members.

This year, there will be several songs that feature a combination of programs. “Seal Lullaby” combines the Advanced Women’s Choir with the woodwind section in Wind Ensemble, and “Deck the Hall” combines choir with Wind Ensemble brass. The piece “Gaudette,” not only incorporates percussion and choir, but also features dance. Students are excited to showcase their talent and hardwork. A Junior member of Wind Ensemble, Nick Gallegos, is looking forward to the concert. His favourite part about prism is “all the fine arts coming together and exposing others to something they’ve never seen/heard before.” All the groups have been striving to put on the best show they can, and it will certainly be entertaining for audience members of all ages.

All tickets available for purchase online for both the Friday show and the Saturday show have been sold out. However, there will be a standby ticket line at each show, but seats are very limited, so it is recommended to get in line early. The Prism Concert will undoubtedly dazzle its audiences, making it a highlight of the season. Good luck to all the performers this weekend!
