On the game against our rivals East River High School, Timber Creek Wolves dominated with a winning score of 62-35. Before the game, Coach Cintron was confident that the team would do great that night. “I think we’re going to be fine to be honest. We’re gonna have lots of energy and I’m sure everyone will have a chance to play. We got the better roster and I’m pretty sure from a scale from 1-10 we’re better across the board. We should show pretty well. We’re excited to play,” said Cintron. Without a doubt, Cintron predicted right. Timber Creek started off the game strong with a quick free throw point along with a three point shot not too far afterward.

From the tip-off with a strong start, the Wolves had motivation to keep pushing through. First quarter ended with Wolves leading 13-10. East River falcons quickly caught up from an 0-8 game. In the Second quarter, keeping the lead was the Wolves with 27-17. The game was brutal with fouls called left and right. After half-time the third quarter quickly approached with a great fight put on my both teams. However, keeping the lead 42-26 was Timber Creek High. Next off fourth quarter was even tougher for both teams. Hard plays made by both ended with many close calls from many hard falls and fouls called Timber Creek continued to keep their flow ending up with a score of 62 beating the East River Falcons with a score of 62-35.

After starting off with the first game of season as a victory, the athletes had some thoughts about how the game went. With a positive response was Bredly Ann said, “We knew as a team we were prepared for the game. We knew it was gonna be a tough one but throughout the game it was an easy route. Through it all we really just hold each other down and stay accountable because we have to.” The season started off with lightwork according to Ann.

MAN TO MAN COMBAT. Timber Creek Wolves hold strong against the Falcons defense. Jayla McClure (Jersey 15) keeps an eye out to be ready to help her teammate at all times being one of the outside view points for the team.

The girls on the team all have a great amount of chemistry between them. Someone on the team who thinks so is a new student named Natali Barakat who said, “We went against out rival. We knew what we were up against so we studied and focused on all the important personnel. There’s just a chemistry that our team has that East River doesn’t seem to. We all know we have a lot of work to do though for the rest of our games. Overall it was a great way to start off the season. This win only motivated us more to perfect our strategies for games coming up.” Teamwork was the key to their success. Overall it was a big win for the Wolves motivating them to keep the adrenaline flowing.
