Timber Creek had two teams participate in this weekend's competition.
Timber Creek had two teams participate in this weekend’s competition.

   This past weekend, Timber Creek’s Robotics Team placed at the VEX competition. With 30 different teams from schools around the district, Timber Creek’s Team A placed first in the programming skills challenge. Team B came in second place in the qualifying rounds and was awarded the prestigious Excellence Award, the highest honoring VEX compeittion award. They recieved the honor for their showcasing of overall excellence in creating a high quality VEX robotics program and deserves recognition for their dedication, devotion, hard work and teamwork.

   Additionally, team members Alec Ornter and Jesus Penaloza recieved $22,000 in scholarships from the Florida Institute of Technology due to their involvement and commitment to their FIRST and VEX programs.

   With the high placing results, the team will continue on to the VEX State Championship later on this year.
