SGA (Student Government Association) has a few things going on that we wanted to bring to your attention. Please see below when you’ve a chance as some (or all) of the events may be things in which you wish to participate:

Student Body Elections

Who: Eligible candidates (list available upon request)

When: Mon., 4/13 through Fri., 4/17 for active campaigning; 4/17 during Social Studies classes to cast ballots

Where: Voting will take place in PAC on Fri, 4/17

Misc: Student-candidates have been instructed to conduct their campaigns in a way that causes no disruption to your classes/instructional time; please let Mr. Cliett or me know of any issues regarding elections if/when they arise

Senior Athlete vs. Faculty Flag Football Game

What: To thank our Senior athletes for representing TCHS Athletics with pride

Who: Senior athletes (male AND female as it is co-ed) in good standing with the school

When: Wed, 4/22 at 5 PM

Where: TCHS Stadium; No charge for admission to the game for observers/attendees

Misc: Special thanks to Coaches Buckridge and Jackson for agreeing to referee; Drs. Berrio and Paduano, Ms. Campbell, Mr. Cliett for agreeing to play; Mr. Holt for announcing. Space to play on the faculty team is available for those that still wish to participate (past participants have included Crenshaw, Hemann, Ferguson, Soubasis, Bray, Feeney, Cox and even more, so I apologize if your name was left off). Please email me if you wish to play so I can forward to you the required liability paperwork. – you get a free t-shirt if you play.

Mayor Teresa Jacobs’ Mayor for a Day Challenge

What: An effort by the Mayor of Orange County to have area youths identify and outline ways to address any social/community problem worthy of attention

Who: TCHS, with Raven McCaskill chairing the effort

When: Now through April 13

Where: Mayor Teresa Jacobs’ Facebook page

Misc: For TCHS to win “Mayor for a Day” for a 3rd straight year, the video that Raven produced (thank you to Mr. Stevens and the Wolf TV crew for the support) with the help of other TCHS students requires more votes/likes than the other posted videos. To vote for Raven’s video:

  1. Please go to the Mayor’s Facebook page and “like” it
  2. Under the “More” tab, find “Videos” and click on it
  3. Look for a tab that says “Contests” or something similar  (at this point in the process and depending on the device you are using, you might need to take additional steps)
  4. Find the video produced by Raven and her team, and click “Love It!”
  5. Vote as often and frequently as you can, and please ask others to do so
