Sophomore, Madison Meadows, has voiced her complaints about the new snapchat format, "It's harder to watch stories, nobody is really on it anymore and the only time you can use snapchat is to snapchat people and nobody ever really watches the stories anymore."
Snapchat Update Gone Horribly Wrong!
The new Snapchat update has been making people furious all over social media. The students here at Timber Creek are even effected by it and have shared their thoughts and opinions on how this has effected the way they use Snapchat. People all over Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. have been posting about how they feel towards this new update and so far it’s been nothing but bad reviews.
This new way of snapchatting is shown to the right. Normally where the Discover section is would be where the stories/discover section is placed but if you look all the way to the left you can see your friends and story. This made people upset because when they had texted a friend and tried to respond, their friends chat would go away if someone had posted on their story recently and they would have to look up their name to find the chat all over again. This has made people do more work then they have to and has become frustrating trying to text others.

Sophomore, Josh Morales, has also been using snapchat for a while and has voiced his opinion. “I don’t like the Snapchat update just because before it was separated into three; you swiped left [and] you have your chats and your Snapchats and [then] you swipe right you get your stories, now they’re all in the same place and it looks like it’s cramped and very unorganized, I think it’s stupid,” Morales said.To get more of a detailed description as to why the students, and people in general, are upset about the new format we interviewed some of the students here at TC. Many of them are just confused with how this new update works and say it is more difficult to communicate with others online. Others say that they are concerned with how their views on their stories have decreased in numbers. Some people also use Snapchat to follow celebrities such as The Kardashians, Bella Thorne, Tana Mongue, and etc. but now it’s like searching for gold trying to find their stories on the explore page. Even now people are still protesting to get the old format back, many believe that Snapchat won’t change it but some are still hopeful. Some are even deleting/ threatening to delete the app and call it a day.
