Teacher Of The Year!

Mr. Dencker has been working for Timber Creek for nine years. When he was nominated for top five in the districts and had won for our school he states, ” I was very surprised because there are a lot of amazing teachers here at TC and I’ve just been here doing my job. Its a very exciting and humbling experience and makes me want to keep on going.” Mr. Dencker has also built the computer science program from when no one knew about it to something huge now here at Timber Creek, “When I started I had very few students who wanted to start and computer science is something everyone should be involved in… It’s geared towards realizing what is around you.. I also wanted to break stereotypes and wanted to let girls know that it’s not just all about guys.” Which is why he has a after school club where girls are learning to code! So that being said, from all of us here at Timber Creek, Congratulations Mr. Dencker on this huge opportunity!

Mrs. Watt has been a staff member at Timber Creek for ten years! Over the years, she has had many different positions at TC, but this year she is working in the guidance office. She works tirelessly to help students and parents who come in to meet with their counselors. “I love being here at Timber Creek [because] everyone here is very special,” Watt said.
