The lives of students in high school is a tough one. They have to balance the plethora of school work, extracurriculars, sports, family, and friends. While struggling to equal out the small amount of time they have, some have part-time jobs on top of all of that. The students who have to figure out how to excel in school, hang out with friends, and still do well at their jobs. Many people underestimate the lives of students and how truly hard it is.

One student who deals with all the stress of a full schedule is senior Nola McNeill. She has classes at Timber Creek, dual enrollment classes at Valencia College, a couple online classes, she is part of the varsity cheerleading squad, and on top of all of that, McNeil works at Panera Bread four times a week. She is a true multitasker who is still able to do well in her classes, sports, and work. McNeil shows all students that it is possible to do all of this, but it is truly hard work and takes dedication.

In order to deal with and juggle all of these responsibilities McNeil said, “I don’t sleep at all and I have a set schedule to get all my homework done.” To get a feel for what it is like to work, do sports, and go to school McNeil advises others to, “not overload yourself and that you are only one person and can only do so much.” These set responsibilities make teenagers feel like true adults and that they are no longer just high school students, but adults in the real world.

Stressed Out. Senior, Nola Mcneill said, “It can be very stressful when trying to juggle all the responsibilities, but it makes me feel like an adult.”
