Swimming team makes waves at District competition

   This past weekend lead by Head Swim Coach Elise Catron and her Assistant Taylor Reeves, Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming both took home second place trophies at their DIstrict competitions. The girls finished with 409 points, and the boys scored 415 overall.

   The following swimmers will continue on at this weekend’s upcoming Regionals Meet:

    Girls Swimming-

Lucy Nguyen – 200 free, 100 free

Megan Reuter – 200 IM*, 100 fly

Taylor Grabenhorst – 200 IM, 100 breast

Ardinn Grabenhorst – 200 IM, 500 free

Abigail Gordiany – 100 fly

Leilani Garcia – 100 fly

Paula Campesino – 500 free*

Sam Galloway – 500 free

Bailey Grabenhorst – 100 breast

      Boys’ Swimming-

Kyle McPherson – 200 free

Thomas Lennon – 200 free, 100 back

Alex Kimpel – 200 IM*, 100 breast*

Silvio Martinez – 200 IM, 100 fly

Jacob Battad – 200 IM, 100 breast

Sebastian Hernandez – 50 free*, 100 free

Zachary Poti – 100 fly*, 100 back*

(*Placed first in their respective events.)

   In addition, all relay swimmers advanced to Regionals, with the boys taking the gold in the 200 Medley and 400 free. 

   The Regional Meet will take place Friday Nov. 8 at the I-Drive YMCA at 9am.
