Seniors have the opportunity to paint their parking spaces

Walking through the Timber Creek parking lot you are met with colorful and intricately decorated parking spots that some students have spent hours upon hours working on. Not only were these spots made by the students but painting them turned into Family Days where everybody would come out and support their senior and help them paint the spot for their senior year.

Parking spots have become more and more popular over the past couple months now that the senior class has the option to customize their spot. When asked why students were allowed to paint parking spots this year instead of others Principle Dr. Kelly Paduano replied that after thorough

research and thought, she thought this senior class deserved the opportunity. Dr. Paduano made sure to emphasize how impressed she was by the creativity and dedication that was displayed by the students during the process of personalizing their parking spot.

Now if you’re a junior or underclassmen you may be wondering if you will be able to personalize your parking when your senior year comes around, well you can! Parking spots will be refurbished every year so that the rising senior class has the opportunity to paint their own. Including the $150 cost of the spot, you can expect an average cost anywhere from $200-$250 once you purchase supplies to decorate you spot. Senior Sydney Allen painted her initials on her parking spot and explains how even after some setbacks, she turned painting a spot into a fun day with her family.

“I found it on Pinterest!”
Senior Sydney Allen describes the idea behind her parking spot and how she found her design on Pinterest. Though on the other hand, the Chick-Fil-a logo was not by coincidence. Allen explained her love for the beloved food chain exclaiming, “I could eat it every day!” She made painting her parking spot into a family day after it was washed away by rain the first time she painted it. On day two, she came back determined to get her spot painted! “I woke up at 8 AM and spent three hours painting and my family helped me not get frustrated. “
