Will this Year be our Year?

After many weeks of conditioning and rigorous tryouts, players left it all on the court during this year’s Preseason Classic on November 14th and 16th, held on our home turf. Being the first games to kick off this basketball preseason it was vital they did not take this classic lightly. They had the opportunity to verse various teams as well as learn their strategies to benefit them during the season.

Timber Creek’s varsity basketball team was able to get some practice on the court with different schools on Tuesday November 14th. At the start of the afternoon the team versed Lake Nona. Later on in the evening the team versed Winter Springs Bears with a score of 35-35. When speaking with sophomore Darryl Davis he claimed, “I am looking forward to working hard this season and leaving it all on the court.” This year will be Davis’s first year on Timber Creek’s varsity basketball team. Davis is excited to play side by side with some great players as well as make new friends.

Two days later, Timber Creek Wolves were back on the court to prove to other schools just what they were capable of this season. They were off to a rocky start with the Edgewater Eagles with a score of 19-37, but they came back and persevered with a strong tie against Lake Minneola Hawks, 35-35. Coach Bailey is a excited for the season and says, “I think the thing I am looking most forward to is to see how they grow as a team, because we don’t have a whole lot of experience returning from last year. So it will be neat to see how we turn out at the end of the season with a young group.” The Wolves are very focused this  year and the teamwork is evident. They have great connections on the court and that allows them to play efficiently.
The Wolves have a lot going for them this season, and are ready for whatever challenge may come their way.  This will be a season you don’t want to miss!
