  1. Transportation– Whether a school is up the street or up the coast, transportation is essential. It is strongly advised to create a plan about how you intend to get around. This is especially important if you intend to live off campus or cook instead of buying a meal plan. Common options are: biking, skateboarding, walking, riding in public transportation, or driving a private car. Make sure you have everything associated with your choice of transportation ie a bike pump, a skate tool to tighten the trucks, durable shoes for respective weather conditions, a map with the bus schedule and location, or the contact information of a local mechanic/tow truck.
  2. Linens– In apartments, dorms, or even at home you can’t forget to buy bedding and towels.   3. Organizers Between shower caddies, closet organizers, and bins there are several organizational tools that ensure cleanliness and order. Often times, in dorm rooms, space is a luxury. It is to one’s benefit to make the most of the space provided so that there is room for much appreciated appliances. 
  4. Study Materials– No matter if you prefer pencil, pen, or print all students need supplies such as computers, notebooks, and folders to help them to succeed. Now that coursework will consist of less assignments and more assessments it is imperative to remember those note-cards or special highlighters that help you get through the year.
  5. School Spirit- At the end of the day, you’re entering a new chapter in your life marked by the college or university you are attending. It’s important to show off your school spirit as a way to take pride in all that you’ve accomplished and all that you’ve yet to do.
