The 2017 UCF football season will undeniably go down in football history. The team went through an extraordinary season with ups and downs, but in the end were 12-0 going into a bowl game. UCF played many good teams like USF and Memphis and still came out on top. But some still are denying it that UCF should be part of the “Big Ten” football bracket, even though they were the only team in college football to go undefeated.

It all started two years ago with a new head coach Scott Frost. Frost came into UCF with new staff and new players like quarterback McKenzie Milton, a freshman who followed to play for Frost, all the way from Hawaii. Frost began building a strong team that came to play this season. Another key player this year that made UCF where it is now is Shaqueem Griffin, who plays defensive linebacker. Griffin, with an inspiring story, only has one hand, but plays levels above most players. The electricity between all of the players really sparked this season which lead them going strong into the Peach Bowl against the Auburn Tigers.

The UCF football team rose to the occasion and battled against Auburn. By the end of the first half UCF was up 13-6. Two field goals by Matthew Wright and a quarterback run in for a touchdown by McKenzie Milton. Then in the third quarter the score was all tied up until the Knights scored two more touchdowns, one being a pick six with five minutes left in the game. Auburn only scored one more touchdown, leaving UCF to take the game winning 34 to 27. The Knights concluded a record season, 13-0, but still receiving no recognition for being the only undefeated team in the league. Sadly, head coach Scott Frost has chosen to move back to his home and be the head coach at Nebraska (his alma mater). With a high still dawning on the players, the team will continue to fight their way up the ranks. Knights Charge On!
