As many of you know, Timber Creek High School has a vet program. This vet program consists of many people who love all sorts of animals and some want to take on animals as their future. I’m apart of the vet program as well and we don’t only just play with dogs, we learn about the safety and care you must have for these animals.

Mrs. Hubble and Mr. Pearce are both the teachers for vet assisting. Mr. Pearce is the vet one teacher and Mrs. Hubble is the vet 2-4 teacher. They support the students and the program. Mr. Pearce says, “The students are all a pleasure to have in class, some want to be vets when they get older.”

There are many students that enjoy vet assisting. Freshman Pamela Figueroa Llavona has vet assisting 6th period says, “What I love about vet is that I get to play with dogs and that I can interact a lot with animals.” In vet you learn about a lot of things that have to do with animal safety and care. Sofia Rodriguez says, “we learn about all the different types of restraints, we also learn about medical. We all enjoy the class because it’s fun and veterinary is an amazing career and learning about it at a young age will help you in the long run.”

They also have a club called FFA that you are a part of as soon as you join vet assisting. FFA helps students grow through agricultural education. You receive many hours by doing community service. By going to 5 meetings before becoming a senior, you receive your senior sash. Parents love it, and so do colleges and jobs.

I encourage all students join vet assisting. Even if you don’t want to become a vet, you can still achieve success through the class. By entering that class you might want to be a vet later on in life. This class may bring it out in you.
