Wolves vs Cougars! (Game on December 8th)
The long awaited basketball season has arrived! Many student athletes were hopeful when they went out of their way to try out for their favorite sport! Each denomination of each team (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman) had a very diverse group when it came to the different age groups. Many freshmen were able to pull through and land a spot on the Junior Varsity team, while you could also recognize some Juniors on the freshman team, while you’d also of course be able to notice other Juniors and Seniors on the Varsity team. Although the JV team has already one game, they are now preparing for their upcoming games, with University High School being a very soon future opponent!
Coming Prepared!
The Timber Creek Wolves Junior Varsity team has been prepping for their upcoming games, especially University. “We practice on different days, sometimes from 4 to 6, while others around 6 to 8 pm.” Explained Jalen Coley, who is number 10 on the Junior Varsity team. Each day of practice, the team puts in hard work and dedication in order to push through and outshine other tough basketball teams such as University. The wide range of different abilities and skills on our JV team may also give us an upper hand against University during the high intensity game.
Wide Variety
Our Junior Varsity basketball team includes a wide range of different skills. The roster goes all the way from juniors to sophomores and even down to freshmen. Many of the new grade levels were excited and eager to show the upperclassmen their skills when it came to their favorite sport. Each of the players play very different yet very important and specific roles in each and every one of their games. When the much anticipated Wolves v. Cougars game finally arrives on the 8th of December, the press will be sure to cover each and every one of those important roles!
So Far So Good!
So far, our Junior Varsity wolves have been able to pull out 2 wins against other opposing teams, one being a very known rival, East River High School! Being that our wolves have a 2 to 0 winning streak as of right now, that has only pushed them harder and made them want to do even better. This has lead to more scheduled practices, pep talks, etc. Although the team commits to very hard work, the players still very much enjoy the team as a whole. Raymonti Goodson, also on the JV team, stated “I like the people on the team and the coaches!” Nice work!
