Have you ever considered how many people have depression? Have you ever looked at someone that is acting a little more extra than usual, or they’re more quiet than usual? Have you ever stopped and thought to yourself about what that person is going through?
Even the happiest people that you know can just be acting like they’re happy. They can just be wearing a mask to hide their true self. Even the people right next to you can seem happy, and they can be going through so much pain and suffering they just keep it to themselves, for they don’t want to have people worry about them or even involve them.
But if you want to possibly change their mood, here are a few things you can do.
The fundamentals things that can help them are asking them if they are alright or if they want to talk or even just a simple “Hi, what’s up?” can change their whole day, because then they may gradually start forgetting that they are even depressed.
Those are the things that you can say to someone who’s depressed.
But the things you that you shouldn’t really say to them is that “they don’t have anything to be depressed about” because then it just makes them feel guilty and even more depressed. Though they know they don’t have anything to be depressed about, it’s just something that they have in their life that they can’t simply disconnect from.
