Reflecting on Art

By Arianna Bekas

It is custom that when a school year comes to close that individuals tend to reflect on the past year. Of course when this reflection occurs most people put on their ‘graduation goggles’, meaning they look on the past year with a sort of nostalgia that wouldn’t have been there if they were asked what they thought of this school year in December. As the 2017-2018 school year comes to a close, the Blue and White reflects on students most fond memories from this past year, and also the art departments accomplishments.

Visual Arts:

Above picture was done by Ayla Sharpe, 12th grade, who said her favorite part from this past year was, “I really enjoyed my concentration this year. This piece was inspired by a slave statue in Italy. My concentration was pain and suffering, so I feel that this really captured it well. I also really enjoy the shading that I did with the art this year.”

The above two pieces were created by senior Kelley Wilson. “My favorite memory from this year was being able to have the creative freedom to work in any medium I wanted to.”

Priscilla Class is also a senior who was in the AP 3D art class. Her favorite memory from this year was, “Working closely with Mrs. Lieffers, and learning how to create artworks from objects I would never think of.”
