Another busy week at the pond! This week we have beeen studying Bridges. Did you know the biggest bridge is located in Japan? It’s the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Thanks Connor for the info!

The classes are competing against each other to see whose bridge can hold up the most pennies! Each team is getting 2 pieces of white copy paper to create a bridge that will hold the most pennies. So if you seem to be missing copy paper around your house, your child might be trying out a few ideas at home. So far the team in 1st grade is winning the first round. We will be doing a total of 3 rounds intermixed with learning more about what makes up a strong bridge, and the different types of bridges.

Also this is the last week to sign up for Mad Scientist, which is loads of fun you can find out more at https://register.madscience.org/cfl/afterschool-register.aspx?regItemSessionID=149385  Classes will  be on Thursday from 3:15-4:15
