Rain on our Parade

Some say you have to dance learn how to dance in the rain but that’s not the case here at Edgewater High School. Homecoming Week has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew.
Hurricane Matthew hit Orange County late Friday evening, OCPS along with other surrounding school counties canceled classes Wednesday afternoon as a safety precaution. This included all sporting events and student activities.
The homecoming dance was scheduled for October 8 and has been pushed back to October 22. Our football game will be postponed until Monday, and in keeping with tradition, the Homecoming court will be announced.
SGA has not given word about whether or not the homecoming parade is going to be rescheduled but band member Jedreck Acquissa remains hopeful.
“It was supposed to be my first parade, I was all hyped up to play. We worked hard so we should still be able to march,” Acquissa said.
The homecoming parade is a highly anticipated event in the college park community and hurricane Matthew has dampened the spirits of the Eagles.
