And the Band Plays On

The stands were filled on September 1 as the Fightin’ Eagles took to their home field to face off against the Colonial Grenadiers football team in the second matchup of the season.

The Eagles were off to a great start scoring the first touchdown and managing a 28 – 0 lead against their opponents.

Just before the end of the first half Mother Nature intervened with a thunderstorm. The game was immediately delayed and all fans and athletes were asked to seek shelter.

Most fans filed into the cafeteria waiting for the game to start back up. The remainder joined the two schools’ band for an intimate performance of their halftime routines.

The lightning and thundering didn’t stop the Pride of College Park from entertaining the crowds.

This last minute venue change had little to no effect on the young professionals who adapted to their strange circumstances quickly and pulled off a powerful performance.

After the two teams performed their pieces the Eagle band kept everyone’s spirits high performing a few of their crowd-pleasers including the song Black Beetles.

The performance just goes to show you the Eagles can persevere through the harshest of storms.
