Women’s March 2018

“In 2017, we marched. In 2018 we act.” These impactful words were chanted by thousands at the recent march for change.

At the 2018 Women’s March held at Lake Eola, January 21 supporters showed up to rally for women’s rights, equality and unity.

The march was in celebration of the one year anniversary of the Women’s March in Washington following the election of president Trump.

The event featured speakers such as state representative Amy Mercado and former National Ambassador Nancy Soderberg.

The theme of this year’s walk was Power to the Polls. The entire day focused on women in politics and encouraging everyone to vote and use their voices and power to make positive changes.

Supporters used their creativity to show their support making signs and dressing up.

There was a strong sense of community surrounding the crowd, and love for your fellow man and women. The march brought out the strength in the city and was a reminder of what is possible when people of a common goal gather to share in something bigger than themselves.
