5th Graders have been working on ukulele in preparation for our work next semester exploring Modern Band. The PTA has supplied us with guitars, keyboards and drums and we will be looking into popular music genres as a way for the students to combine all the music knowledge they have gained so far. We are going to do a quick lesson of performing arts venues jobs and dance the Hora Medura to explore the music of Hannukah. We will work on the partner songs “Thank You for the Christmas” and “Christmas is Here”, play a canon on the mallet percussion instruments and see if we can conquer the G7 chord and play Feliz Navidad on the Ukulele.
