2nd grade had amazing parent turn-out for the Walk-a-thon! Thank you for coming out to support our school! And a special thank you to Mrs. Ramirez for coordinating our healthy snacks and to all the parents who donated. It was a great day!
We just started our new unit on adding 2-digit numbers. We build the unit very slowly with lots of hands-on modeling in order to build a strong foundation with the concept of regrouping. There is a fantastic app called “Number Pieces” that allows kids to model addition using base-10 blocks. Try downloading it and have your child explain when, why, and how they regroup to add 2-digit numbers.
