The Timber Creek Homecoming parade kicked off on Monday, September 17th 2018, at 6 PM. It started at Stone Lakes and finished at Avalon Elementary. This parade helps lead into the homecoming game & dance which most Timber Creek students will be attending. The homecoming parade is an important part in homecoming week along with the other events taking place.  It lasted about an hour, and was filled with floats, candy, and screaming people. There were floats such as the Homecoming Court, Vet, and the Spanish Club float, etc. Many people from Avalon Park gathered about to watch the parade go on and lots of kids attended in hopes of catching candy.

The homecoming courts consisted of freshman court as Sydney Schumacher and Jon Cabral followed by Amber Schultz and Chase D’Alessandro. For sophomore court, Kacie Michaud and Anthony Torla along with Steven Estrada and Adriana Nabong as they lead for a second time in a row. For junior court, Luke Meunier and Kennedy Joy Foristall along with Brock Doonan and Olivia Campbell. For senior court, Dylan as known as Vito and Zaysha Quezeda followed by Adrian Vega and Naida Velez. Congrats to all these winners!

The floats looked amazing and were filled with surprises. The vet float contained a football field goal post and a pony walking next to it which was a big surprise to everybody, but they loved it. The Spanish club float was filled with lots of singing to Spanish songs and wearing their countries’ colors. They ended up winning first place because of how much spirit they had Monday night and because of how well they represented the theme.

Overall, homecoming week was a big success. All the events and homecoming itself went really smoothly and it was a week of fun no matter how small or big the event was. A kickball game, a movie night, a parade, etc. That all occurred the week of homecoming. Many were involved and engaged because of how active the week was and because so much was going on. Next year will come with new ideas and many are excited to do it all again!
