Playing their hardest, the Timber Creek junior varsity team worked on Thursday night against Cypress Creek high school, winning with a score of 0-1. Before the game Coach Bell was feeling pretty confident in the boys. “I feel confident in the guys and I feel like they are going to come out and play physical and competitive. I don’t know much about the other team, but I’m confident that the guys are going to compete,” said Bell. Without a doubt he predicted right, the boys put it all out on the field and took another win.

After the first quarter the game was at 0-0, they went in for a huddle at halftime and has a few words consisting of playing harder and putting in some work. Sure enough by the end of the next quarter they were up 0-1. With multiple fouls and calls from the referees the boys came together as a team and stepped up. One of the players, Sebastian Duque said that, “We started off and we weren’t very intense in the beginning and we got a lucky goal and then we defended for the rest of the half and then our coach gave us a pep talk at halftime to play more intense, to play better, and get more motivated. We did play more intense the second half and we had to close up the game, we really pulled it together,” said Duque.

With only losing 1 game so far this season the team didn’t want to slip up again, many of the players got to get the ball out of the opposing team’s possession and got it back to their side. The team really seemed to communicate well and it helped the flow of the game. Martino Mafale, their goalie, said, “The game went pretty good at first Cypress had many counter attacks, they has fast triangular passing then it got switched around and Timber Creek had everything going for them and then there was a corner kick, and Omar A. scored,” said Mafale.
