December 1st, and 2nd were busy days at Timber Creek High School for the 6-8th graders competing in their theatrical districts. The atmosphere was buzzing with joy, nerves, and excitement. Friday was the one act day where each troupe had a 40 minute play put together which was very exciting. Day 2 were the solo, duets, ensemble, pantomimes, and monologue performances. The weekend was a very fun day for everyone as a contestant, volunteer, and  guest.

The volunteer side of it was full of nerves, and stress. They set up all the classrooms, pac, and tech areas. People were rushing around in headsets to make sure everything was running smooth, and the jr.thespians had the best day they could possibly have. Many of these volunteers are thespians and enjoy these competitions as they previously competed, and now for TC. They were all joyful working together and many new friends were made on these two days. Many were there from 6am-10pm and many came from 9-11:30am and stayed the whole time. Many stayed past their shift more than happy to help later. They all worked together and pulled through to create the best memories for the jr.thespians and as themselves.

Day 1 was very exciting as this was their longest performances of the weekend ahead. Troupe 88984 leader Ms.Mcdonald had spoken out about her feelings about what lied ahead, “We are very excited we have all of the most talented students in ocps and I know they’re going to perform amazing.” She also wrote her troupe’s one act, so that was very exciting for them to perform a an original piece that they have practiced very much and put days of energy into it. All the troupes performed amazing and it gave them the needed confidence for what the next day would bring. Congratulations to the troupe who is carrying their act to states!

Day 2 was all the extremely competitive deciding on who will carry on to states and who won’t. The school was buzzing with singing, and acting filling up the atmosphere. Concessions was filled endlessly with people hungry from using so much energy to create the most amazing performance in hopes of making it to states. At the very end everyone came together to watch the best in show acts perform and just let an amazing day come to in an end in such an amazing way. Everyone came together and carried out a great experience with happiness, and friendship.
