Many people believe that a technology-based education system should not be implemented. Technology is susceptible to too many issues such as crashing systems and slow internet. On the other hand, many people believe that a technology-based education system is a good idea because it allows a wider range of resources for the students as well as greater convenience in sharing documents and assignments for home. Though many people in Timber Creek tend to complain about how the technology of the school is somewhat badly managed, many do agree that the concept is a good idea, though it needs improvements.
When one of the students of the school, Samantha Arizmendi, was interviewed on the topic, she agreed.
What do you think about the technology-based education system overall?
“I think that the technology-based education system is very efficient and helps us learn how to use computers and such.”
What is your favorite part about it?
“My favorite will probably be Google Classroom. I find it organized.”
What is your least favorite part about it?
“I guess that there is a lot of unnecessary security. Like, when I get home, I can’t exactly use YouTube or a few other websites ’cause I am not using the school’s WiFi.”
What would you improve?
“Nothing really needs improvement, just less security.”
Another student, Omar Becerril gave his opinion of the matter in an interview as well.
What do you think about the technology-based education system overall?
“Well, I think that the technology used in the education system at the time is really helpful to us students because it allows us to be more organized and it helps us turn in assignments even if we are absent. But, the school should fix some problems, like computers being too slow or the internet being too slow.”
What is your favorite part about it?
“Well, the ability to do the assignments on the computer allows me to be more efficient and allows the teacher to see a more organized assignment when I turn it in.”
What is your least favorite part about it?
“The slowness of both the computers and the school internet is a very big downside of the technology.”
What would you improve?
“The slowness of the computers, I would try to make them more efficient in speed.”
