Swish! Varsity Player Anthony Figueroa gets ready for his free throw. He shoots and he scores!

After many impressive games on their home turf it has come the time for Timber Creek to take a trip to Boone High School, kicking off their first away game of the season. This game will be a significant one. Timber Creek will have to prove that their skill level will remain the same no matter the location. Timber Creek will be going head to head with Boone on Tuesday, December 12. Since it is their first away game,  they encourage all to try to come and support them on this new territory.

The varsity basketball team has been working on many new drills to help them in the upcoming games. These intense practices have been no joke. These players have been putting in as much work and dedication possible. When stepping foot into the gym the persevering mindset can be seen.  It is clearly shown that the same mindset that these players have during games is kept during practice.  The team goes by the mentality that when in practice, it should be treated equal to, or even more important to a game. It is this mentality that helps them play efficiently as well as give their one hundred percent each and every game. When speaking with varsity player Cameron hall there was no doubt how serious practice as well as training for the game was taken. Hall said that during a game, how much and how hard a player practiced earlier on was noticeable on the court. Hall is hopeful that their hard work is evident in this upcoming game and that the results will be promising.

These players have been performing with such great work ethic this week, thanks to head coach, Coach Bailey. Coach Bailey has been making them work up a sweat in this weeks strenuous practices. Coach Bailey has been motivating as well as pushing these players to their limits giving them many pep talks and encouragement along the way. All his tactics and strategies are to help these players grow individually. When asked what are team will need to do to ensure a win against Bonne he said, “As long as everyone on the team works as hard as they been in practice and stays one hundred percent focused during the game keeping in mind the corrections given during practice then we should be just fine.”

Well this game would be not one to miss, as it is a start off to the series of many other away games to come. Although quite a drive this game would be a great way to come show some love and support for the team. The more people will come the more it will feel like the team is playing right at home.
