Junior Natalie Rivera lifts 85 pounds and sets a new personal record!
Junior, Gaby Berrios, smiles after benching 130 pounds. She says before the game on November 15th, 2017, “We have had a really good season so far, we are undefeated. Hopefully we can carry it through to state!”

Senior Victoria Berrios lifts a massive 175 pounds and impresses the audience and judges.

On Wednesday, November 15, at the cafeteria here at TC, the University Lady Cougars and TC Lady Wolves competed face to face for several hours at this weight lifting match. The last match was against Oak Ridge and the ladies placed first with 46 points. Again, at the match against the Lady Cougars, our Lady Wolves received first place with a score of 57 points; 11 points better than the last competition and 22 points ahead of University HS.

Before the game, the ladies felt confident to go against University and have had a great season so far. They cheered each other on as each student from TC fought the weight and pushed through. Many of the students also received their personal records or PR’s at this match so it was a huge success for the team and coaches! Natalie Rivera, a junior this year, benched 85 pounds which is 20 pounds more than her last PR!

Not only was this match successful but it was an important night of the season where the team recognizes each senior. Many of them on this special night received gifts from their teammates and friends. The Lady wolves fought hard this match and hopefully will continue to win the upcoming meets!
