Rapper Mac Miller died Friday, September 9th, of a drug overdose in Studio City, California. Mac Miller was 26. Born Malcolm McCormick, he had recently released an album, Swimming, on August 3rd. This was his 5th studio album. He has produced three Platinum records and seven Gold records during his career. The tragedy of the late rapper’s overdose caused many to reach out to his family/friends over social media. Angry fans also took to social media to falsely blame ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, for his death even though he said that he and Ariana had both moved on during a Beats Apple Music interview back in July. There is a planned memorial in Pittsburgh’s Blue Slide Park, also the name of his debut studio album, which had over 500,000 sales in the United States alone.

He will be missed by many.
