Variety Show is an annual performance presented by the Boone Chorus in late April or early May. This show is a hybrid of a spring chorus concert and a musical theater style performance. See the end of this post for dress rehearsal and performance dates.
Auditions for Solos & Lead Roles
All chorus students will participate in the Variety Show. Students may also be interested in auditioning for the lead roles or smaller solos. To be considered for a lead role or solo, students must audition on one of the dates listed here:
Monday, March 18, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Tuesday, March 19, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Signup sheets will be posted in the chorus room. Students with significant conflicts should see Mr. Doherty for alternative scheduling.
Audition material
- All students will perform measures 1-20 of “Almost Paradise” from Footloose the Musical along with a pre-recorded accompaniment track. Sheet music will be provided in class.
- All boys should be prepared to also sing the opening solo in measures 1-23 of “C’mon Everybody” along with a pre-recorded accompaniment track. Sheet music to be provided in class.
- All girls should be prepared to also sing the solo in measures 19-53 of “Holding Out for a Hero” from Footloose the musical along with a pre-recorded accompaniment track. Sheet music to be provided in class.
Variety Show Required Dates
Required after school rehearsals and performances for ALL CHORUS STUDENTS are listed below.
Additional rehearsals will be scheduled later for the Senior Song, lead roles, and others as needed.

Performances
- May 2, 3, 4, at 7:00pm (Thu, Fri, Sat)
- Student call time is 6:00pm
