2018-19 Concert & Rehearsal Schedule

Our  2018-19 FHS Guitar Ensemble Performance and Rehearsal schedule is listed below!

Performance & Rehearsal Schedule:  As a performance oriented class, students in any of the FHS Guitar Ensembles will have required performances as part of their overall grade playing solo and/or ensemble Guitar Music at the following events:


*Summer Guitar Rehearsals (Guitar Orchestra only) to prepare for the Florida Guitar Festival Thursday, July 19 and July 26, 2018 – 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Freedom High School



*Dr. Eva Beneke Workshop and Concert: (ALL GUITAR ENSEMBLES) – Rehearsals / Masterclasses / Workshop @ Freedom High School  September 25-26-27, 2018

Fall Guitar Concert Thursday, September 27, 2018  7:00pm at the Freedom High School Performing Arts Center


*Florida Guitar Festival at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL October 5-7, 2018         The Freedom High School Guitar Orchestra will perform in concert at this event!


*NAfME All-National Honor Guitar Ensemble:  

National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is excited to announce the addition of a Guitar Ensemble to the NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles program. This year’s Guitar Ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Michael Quantz.

Dates – November 25-28, 2018

Location – Disney’s Coronado Spring’s Resort, Orlando, FL

Other rehearsal and performance opportunities may be added to our calendar at the discretion of Mr. Perez including several in-school field trips to rehearse with college professors, and off campus to perform/work with other guitar programs, and performing in our community.  Students will be notified at least two weeks prior each added event.  An unexcused absence from each and any rehearsal and performance commitment will result in the lowering of a letter grade during the grading period from which the performance was held.  Please contact Mr. Perez if there are any questions or conflicts at least two weeks prior to a performance.
