On Friday, January 12, the lady wolves played the Hagerty Huskies. Their starting lineup consisted of Katie Ingoglia, Olivia Flack, Julia Rodriguez, Grace Howell, Jillian Morrea, Haley Rizzo, Lauren Torres, Lauren Hicks, Reagan Young, Peyton Vasquez, and Kasey Adkins. The spirits were high with help from the supporting crowd and from their previous win the week before. The lady wolves played at 7:30 at Timber Creek High School

As the whistle was blown, the wolves were hardworking and managed to get a close chance with a cross from the outside. Following that was a close shot and a goal for Timber Creek. The goal scored in the 24th minute by Jillian Morrea. Timber Creek was able to keep possession for the majority of the first half. Keeping possession opened up opportunities to go forward and resulted in another nail-biting chance with a cross from Lauren Torres to Lauren Hicks.

In the eighteen minute, Lauren Torres took a free kick just outside the eighteen box and managed to get a save from the keeper with a close chance. As the keeper made the save, the ball bounced back away and was chipped into the goal by Ingoglia. The ball soared over Hagerty’s keeper, making the score 2-0. The wolves kept playing hard as the referee blew the whistle for halftime.

After the wolves had taken a short break, there were right back in the last thirty minutes, there were plenty of goals scored. “From the inside of the game, it was still exciting,” says Rizzo, “each other that was scored, for us or against us, made me want to play even harder.”  In the 27th minute, Ingoglia scored again with a side volley. In the 20th minute, Torres scored a goal off a corner and managed to curl it into the back of the net. Finally, to finish off the game, in the 16th minute, Hicks scored a goal by heading the ball off of a corner and slammed it into the back of the net. Hagerty had managed to pull off a goal in the third minute, but the wolves still ended with the victory. The final score was 4-2 to the lady wolves. “From the inside of the game, it was still exciting,” says Rizzo after the game, “each goal that was scored, for us or against us, made me want to play even harder.”  The lady wolves went home to prepare for their next game.
