As many of you know, both Mr. Doherty and Mrs. Noble are leaving Boone High School. We feel much better knowing that the Boone Chorus program is in the excellent hands of Mr. Pollard! Mr. Pollard is committed to the sense of community that is at the core of this program, and he is passionate about bringing quality music experiences to his students. We wish Mr. Pollard and Boone Chorus a beautiful future of making music together.

We have arranged private transportation for all underclassmen for this activity. Make sure you leave the Boone area by 6:45am at the latest so that you arrive on the UCF campus by 7:15am. It will take you about 15 minutes to walk from a nearby parking garage to the arena floor.
Parking Garage F
>> Bldg. 50 Gemini Blvd N, Oviedo, FL 32765
Loading dock entrance to CFE Arena
>> 50 West Plaza Dr
4 Rivers Smokehouse
>> 11764 University Blvd
Drivers with a “teacher parking pass” should attempt to park in Parking Garage F. If needed, try D or H.
How to get inside the Arena
The way for underclassmen (and parents) to gain access to the arena floor is through the loading dock and press entrance area. To find this, go to 50 West Plaza Dr (bit.ly/50wplaza). Using your best sense of direction, go towards the center of the building until you find the arena floor. We will be doing a sound check etc between 7:30-8:00am. If anyone stops you, you say that you’re performing with the choir for the Boone High School graduation.
If you need help with parking or finding us in the arena, please ask one of the many UCF staff or police that will be around campus.

The final Boone Chorus concert of the year, Spring Showcase, is next week and you have TWO chances to see it! Shows are Thursday, 4/19, and Friday, 4/20, at 7pm. Advance ticket order forms were sent home with student on Monday, 4/9.
VIP tickets include preferred seating, French-inspired hors d’oeuvres and beverages before the show and at intermission; General admission is $7 and VIP tickets are $15. OCPS staff get in free (general admission) with their school ID.
This concert will feature the REQUIEM by Gabriel Faure, an extended work written for choir and orchestra. Then you’ll hear special performances by each choir, and the annual Senior Song– “Go the Distance” from Hercules. We’ll present music from Music Performance Assessment as well as some lighter fare.
We would love to sell out both nights. Please share the dates with friends and family. Thank you all for your support of our students! We are excited to showcase all their hard work from this school year.
Please post this calendar on your fridge or transfer the dates to your personal calendar. A hard copy was distributed to students when we returned from Spring Break. Students were advised to circle those events that apply to them. All these dates are on our Google calendar, but we wanted to give everyone a hard copy since it’s such a busy month for the chorus program. We are really looking forward to the Spring Showcase concerts on April 19-20, which is the final product after all these rehearsals. Let us know if you have any questions.
All men in Boone Chorus will participate in the 2018 Stetson Men’s Choir Festival under the direction of Timothy Peter, D.M.A., for a musical event designed to affirm the participation of young men in the vocal arts. This year’s vocal “athletes” will interact with dozens of other male singers from all over the State of Florida during rehearsals and social time. Come feel the power and excitement generated by the 2018 Stetson Men’s Festival Chorus. Music will be learned and performed in one day – no preparation is necessary…
