Feb. 4-6, three students of Business Professionals of America will participate in the state competition at the Lake Buena Vista Hilton. These students are part of a Financial Analyst Team who are given a topic and have 90 minutes to solve and present to a panel of judges.
The students of BPA spent weeks beforehand to prepare for the regional competition.
“We had to design a spreadsheet and work on our presentation skills. We also had a finance class for two-and-a-half years which definitely helped,” junior Charles Collins said.
The Financial Analyst Team consisting of Brandi Recker, Charles Collins and Katie Gibson placed first in their category at regionals in Dec.
“[I am most looking forward to] winning states again and making sure everyone knows Boone Finance is the best,” Collins said.
Also Michael Merwin placed third in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures where he took a 90-minute text on the computer to assess his skills.
