Progress Reports Frustrations

Due to Hurricane Irma’s recent impact on Florida, many schools and homes were left without power for a week. Along with students missing school for week which for some students had a great impact on their grade for the first progress report.

Sharik Vega said, “The fact that grades will still be put in progress book, even though a week’s worth of work is lost, is unfair because in that week, I could have at least tried to. However, since grades are going to be put in anyways, my chance of doing so has been halted by those missing five days.”

Another perspective on the issue, Teague Tharpe said, “I wasn’t behind personally, but my classes altogether were behind.” Even some teachers went on the train of review and catch up.

Students received progress reports on Sept. 22 even after missing a week of school due to Hurricane Irma.
