Beneath the rainy, star-lit sky on Monday, April 18, the Jazz band performed in the Kemosabe courtyard. The annual Jazz Under the Starz event began three years ago to expose the Jazz band to the community while raising money to further support the band program.
“The Jazz band played really well; everyone seemed like they had a good time and the silent auction that coincided with the concert was a success,” Assistant Director Jose Eslava said.
Though the event was moved due to inclement weather, the silent auction raised over $2,500. The proceeds will help buy new music, fix broken instruments and better fund the music program.
