On Nov. 10 three seniors on campus signed their letters of intent to play at the college level. Cinzia Calabretta, Kristin Faust, amd Paige Pender are going to play at Auburn, Clemson and Florida Atlantic respectively.
Pender, who will be a fourth year softball player this spring, was named to the Orlando Sentinel Class 6A All-State softball team as a pitcher her junior year.
Faust verbally committed to Clemson, where she will receive a full ride, before the start of the volleyball season. In her fourth season on the team, eighth overall, she has led the team to their first ever state finals appearance where the face Miami Dr. Krop on Friday in the semi-finals. She also had offers from Texas Christian, Florida Gulf Coast, and the University of Connecticut.
Next fall Calabretta will be diving for the Auburn Tigers. In her fourth year on the team and her 11th year overall she placed second in both the district meet and the regional meet and will compete at states this Saturday. She is in her fifth year of competitive diving for the US National Team. She received full room, board, and books and 35 percent tuition in her scholarship.
