Not looking forward to your semester exams coming up?  Don’t want to take them?  Well here are the 10 ways to improving study habits.  With these helpful hints students will be sure to stay cool, calm and collected while passing their exams perfectly.  Thanks to web sites like www.how-to-study.com and www.educationcorner.com your study time will be more organized and your test time less stressful.

  1. Create a study place.
  2. Remember DETER: Directions, Examine, Time, Easiest, Review.   Use these steps when preparing for a test.
  3. Eliminate distractions around you. (Yes, that means, no Facebook, Twitter or Farmville)
  4. Take breaks between sections.
  5. Establish reasonable goals for a study session.
  6. Just do it. Stop finding other things to do with your time.
  7. Concentrate.
  8. Communication is key if you are in a study group.
  9. Avoid cramming all your studying into one session.  Too much at one time can cause you to confuse the material.
  10. Start with the most difficult subject first and then work your way to the easiest.

The 2012 first semester exam schedule is as followed:

Tuesday – January 17

1st exam = 7:20am – 9:20am     (120 minutes)

2nd period = 9:26am – 10:04am     (38 minutes)

4th period = 10:04am – 11:29am     (follow normal lunch schedule)

6th period = 11:35am – 12:08pm     (33 minutes)

5th exam = 12:14pm – 2:14pm     (120 minutes)

Wednesday – January 18

2nd exam = 7:20am – 9:35am     (135 minutes)

4th period = Follow normal lunch schedule

6th exam = 10:58 am – 1:14pm     (136 minutes)

Thursday – January 19

3rd exam = 7:20am – 9:20 am     (120 minutes)

4th period = exam and lunch

A lunch – 9:26 – 10:00

Exam:  10:06 – 12:06  (120 minutes)

Exam: 9:26 – 11:26 (120 minutes)

B lunch –  11:32 – 12:06

7th exam =  12:12 – 2:14     (122 minutes)
