In the regional championship on Tuesday, the Lady Braves softball team played against the Jacksonville Mandarin Mustangs.
In the bottom of the first inning, senior Katelyn Schettino got a base hit bringing two Lady Braves home. The inning ended 2-0.
However, Mandarin began to make their comeback in the top of the second inning. The Mustangs quickly scored two runs, tying the score 2-2. The Mustangs kept pulling forward and scored another two points, which ended the second inning, 2-4.
In the bottom of the third inning, senior Laura Gavern hit sophomore Leslie Cintolo home. Marissa Edwards managed to do the same, bringing freshman Ciara McCoy home, ending the second inning, 4-4.
The Mustangs managed to dominate at bat.In the top of the seventh inning, Kendall Reid of Mandarin hit a home run, bringing the score 11-4.
The girls ended their season, district and regional semifinal champions.
