Student raises bar

However, a unique aspect of Dylan being a valedictorian is that one of the others is his twin brother Dustin. Both boys have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.92 weighted.

“Honestly, being a valedictorian doesn’t matter much to me. What really matters is what I do with my future” Fontaine said.

The Fontaines high school career has been different than others, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, Dylan participating in weightlifting, Dustin participating in Tennis, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and also having each other to help on schoolwork. This year they had all seven classes together.

“It’s been fun. It’s good to have a friend and someone to work on assignments with in and outside of classes,” Fontaine said.

“Mr. Mike Undieme has taught me the most in my high school career. I had him for two years and he is the one who got me interested in an engineering career,” Fontaine said.

Dylan’s favorite classes are math and physics.

“They are really easy to me; I never have to study hard for them. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything,” Fontaine said.

Dylan has been a four-year letterman in weightlifting. This season he was one of the only veterans on the team and lead the team to a big win over Freedom High School, 56-23.

Dylan is attending the University of Florida and will be majoring in engineering.
