On March 12, the girls’ water polo took a hit with a 2-4 loss against Olympia, making their record 10-3.

As first quarter began, Olympia took the lead and scored the first goal.  Olympia continuously attempted shots but junior Jenna Layton blocked them.  The girls had opportunities to score but Olympia’s goalie prevented them.

Starting the second quarter, Layton continued making saves, and the team took shots but kept hitting post.  At the end of the second quarter, the score remained the same with Olympia up by one.

In the third quarter, the girls were still attacking but kept hitting post.  Even with Layton blocking shots, another managed to get by her, making Olympia up by two when the quarter ended.

Putting them on the board in the fourth quarter, junior Julia Hester scored the team’s first goal.  Hester scored another goal, giving the girls a chance to tie or even win beat Olympia.  But following Olympia scored two back-to-back goals, making the final score 2-4.

The girls play Timber Creek at Wadeview Pool on March 14 at 6 p.m..
