At Showalter Field on March 21, the girls track team placed eighth overall in the East division at the Metro Conference Finals.
Notable accomplishments came from senior Justice Donald who after placing third in the preliminaries of the 100 meter dash ended up placing first in the finals with a time of 12.54.
Both freshman Victoria Verzi and junior Courtney Patz placed sixth and seventh in triple jump with distances of 32-02.50 and 31-04.50, respectively. Verzi’s distance was a personal record for her.
Patz also got a new season best in pole vaulting when she cleared 7 ‘ 6 ” and placed seventh.
Junior Miranda Miller placed eighth in shot put with a distance of 31’9″.
Junior Alexandra Meneses placed seventh in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:39.52.
Girls placed eighth in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 55.84.
Freshman Jordan Crawford placed fourth in the finals of the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.64.
Sophomore Claire Collins placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.77.
Girls placed fourth in the 4 x 800 meter relay with a time of 10:36.38.
Freshman Ariel De’Angelo placed eighth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:17.98, her new personal record.
Overall, girls came out with 37 points placing eighth out of 10 teams while the boys placed fifth with 50 points.
The next meet will be the Brian Jaegar Elite at Showalter field on April 13, at 8 a.m.
