Rush week creates opportunities for students to learn and join the clubs Boone offers. Below is information on dates of meetings and information about the different clubs.

 

Art Club

First Meeting: Sept. 5, 2:30 p.m.

Room: Nicole Moitoza (11.111)

Regular meetings: First and third Thursday of every month

Art Club creates yarn crafts, jewelry, face paints for homecoming week and more

 

American Sign Language (ASL)

First Meeting: Sept. 4, 2:30 p.m.

Room: Monica Bourret (103)

Regular meetings: Once a month on a Wednesday 2:30 p.m.

ASL interacts with deaf and hard of hearing students, also involved in homecoming parade

 

Always Wear Your Seatbelt (AWYS)

First Meeting: TBA

Room: Donna Patz (13.217)

Regular meetings: TBA

AWYS works on community service projects and educates students on driving safety

 

Baking Braves

First Meeting: TBA

Room: Jenna Patton (210)

Regular meetings: TBA

Baking Braves bakes for competitions and donates baked goods to sports senior nights

 

Best Buddies 

First Meeting: Sept. 3, 2:30 p.m.

Room: Denise Scott (214)

Regular meetings: TBA

Best Buddies has one-on-one activities with special needs students

 

Mere Words

First Meeting: Sept. 12, 2:30 p.m.

Room: Amy Tauriello (303)

Regular meetings: Every other month 2:30 p.m.

Book Club reads books and analyzes them, and is also involved in community service projects like reading to children at Blankner

 

Chemistry Club 

First Meeting: TBA

Regular meetings: Tuesdays, 7 a.m.

Chemistry Club helps students with questions they have

 

Crew

First Practice: Sept. 3.

Location: Boone boat house at Turkey Lake

Regular meetings: Practices

Crew is a rowing club, for more information the first practice is open for any new comers

 

Engineering Club

Engineering Club plans to build a go cart and hover craft

 

Environmental Club

Environmental Club beautifies Boone, recycles and helps the planet

 

FCA

First Meeting: Sept. 16, 6 p.m.

FCA holds bible studies, prayer at the pole and has guest speakers at the huddles

 

French Club

First Meeting: Sept. 5, 2:30 p.m.

French Club fundraises for Nathaniel’s Hope and is involved in community service projects

 

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) 

First Meeting: Sept. 9, 2:30 p.m.

Regular meetings: Once a month

GSA fundraises for different organizations and has speakers come in and talk

 

Harry Potter Club 

First Meeting: Sept. 9, 2:30 p.m.

The Harry Potter club has Trivia and FanFiction on the series, wand making and Quidditch games twice a month

 

Key Club

Key Club builds character and develops leadership through community service projects

 

Math Club 

First Meeting: Sept. 5, 6:45 a.m. (arrive early)

Room: Upstairs 1300

Regular meetings: Every Thursday

Math Club solves three problems and after review the student with the most correct wins a prize at the end of the semester

 

Safe Ambassadors  

First Meeting: Sept. 18, 2:30 p.m.

Room: Brenda White (10.143)

Regular meetings: Every other Wednesday

Safe Ambassadors holds all Red Ribbon events and also the mock DUI for the senior and junior class

 

Young Republicans 

First Meeting: Sept. 4, 2:30 p.m.

Room: James Corbin (234)

Regular meetings: Wednesdays

Young Republicans helps promote Republican candidates and hold two debates a year against the Young Democrats in the Magnet courtroom
