In a head to head competition on Friday, Jan. 9, the Lady Braves soccer team took on Lake Highland.
In the first half, the girls kept the score at a steady 0-0 with strong defense. After attempted shots on goal by sophomore Jewell Gentry-Mickelson, offense stepped up their game, ready to bring home another win.
Returning from halftime, offense came out with determination. Although Lake Highland scored the first goal of the night, the Lady Braves fought back, scoring two goals. W@ith an assist from senior Emily Stearns, sophomore Haley Hadd scored the first point. Then sophomore Sydney Ritten, with an assist from sophomore Kelli Kurtz scored the second, bringing the score to 2-1.
As the buzzer sounded, the Braves ran off the field, satisfied with another win, bringing their record to 15-7-1. The Lady Braves will compete on Monday, Jan. 12 against Cypress Creek at home.
