The girls volleyball team fell to the Winter Park Wildcats on Tuesday in a 2-3 match.
Senior Erin Carter started the first set with a kill and continued to rack in the points. Junior Lillian Baker followed after Carter and got in several tips and kills. The first set was a quick victory for the Braves, ending with a score of (25-21).
Transitioning into the second set, senior Julia Alves got a kill, hiking up the score. The girls continued scoring points with help from junior Ashlynn Daley who had a kill and a set-winning ace from junior Kaitlin Michaels. Boone won the second set (25-19).
The third set started out with the majority of the points coming from mistakes instead of hits and kills. Carter, Baker and Daley did have some kills throughout the set but the team still fell short, losing the third set 17-25.
The girls began to lose their heat as they lost points over mistakes and out of bounds hits and serves. Boone lost the fourth set (10-25).
Although the energy levels were high as the teams faced off in a fifth set, the Braves fell short to the Wildcats (7-15).
The team will play Freedom High School on Sept. 27 at home for their senior night.
